Classical Beauty is a life size Chillagoe Marble sculpture that I carved during my honours year of university, it was one of 6 sculptures, 3 paintings and a whole heap of other stuff together with a thesis of research. My area of study was the thin ideal and pressures on women to be thin, this work celebrates the curvaceous womanly form.
The following year the Atherton Shire Council purchased the work and it can be viewed at her home in the Foyer Gallery of the Tableland Regional Council Chambers.

Classical Beauty – Starting to take away the excess after the saw line is cut and the wedges are put in and the excess stone is pitched, they are hit one at a time until the tone changes, then you know it has pitched, as it breaks there is a distinctive acidic smell.

Koko used to sit by the Gazebo and supervise. She was the first dog we had who was mine. My Grandmother gave her to me on my 13th birthday. I had her for 13 years.
